Automated Spray Lines
Automated Spray Lines – Lines 1 & 2
We only use water-based spray paint on these lines. Special tooling is required for every bottle / vessel shape and size. This is to ensure that the item is spun correctly for an even spray application. Once set up, each item will be sprayed consistently the same throughout the production run. We currently only spray glass items on these lines but we are trialling aluminium and plastic items.
Pre-Treatment for Optimal Adhesion
A flawless finish begins with a thorough pre-treatment process:
- Flame Treatment: Improves paint adhesion and removes any contamination from the glass surface.
- Anti-Static Air Knives and Spinning Brushes: Eliminate dust particles and other contaminants.
-
Enclosed Spray Line: After pre-treatment, the line is completely enclosed to maintain a clean environment.
In cases of severe contamination, additional steps like chemical wiping or burning glass at 600°C are implemented to remove stubborn cold-end coatings.
Spraying and Curing
Controlled Spray Booth
Our spray booth uses air pressure control to maintain consistent airflow for precision. A 4-gun spray system ensures thorough coverage, while a flow section allows the paint to settle evenly before curing.
In-Line Curing & Cooling
Our water-based paints are cured at 180–200°C for 20 minutes, followed by in-line cooling. This allows glass items to be packed immediately after production.
Finishes and Effects
We offer a wide range of finishes to match your branding or design requirements:
Textures: Gloss, satin, or matte finishes.
Coatings: Opaque, transparent, frosted, or vignette effects.
Specialty Effects: Metallic, iridescent, and fluorescent finishes.
Additionally, branding elements such as print, digital print, or decals can be applied on top of the spray coating for a personalized touch.
Vessels and Dimensions
Our automated spray lines are versatile enough to coat items ranging from 50mm to 350mm in height, with a maximum diameter of 120mm (expandable to 160mm with special tooling). Whether it's bottles or candle vessels, we’ve got the capacity to handle diverse projects.
