We are absolutely thrilled to share that Coloured Bottles has passed our ISO 9001 audit with TÜV, one of the world's most respected independent certification bodies. The hard work is done, the audit is complete, and we are now proudly awaiting our official certificate.
It has been quite a journey to get here, and honestly, it feels brilliant to finally be able to say it out loud. This certification covers our entire operation: from the moment stock arrives in our warehouse all the way through to how we look after our customers: and it means every part of what we do has been independently reviewed and confirmed to meet the highest international standards for quality management.
So, What Exactly Is ISO 9001?
If you have not come across it before, ISO 9001 is the world's leading quality management standard: developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation and recognised by businesses, buyers, and procurement teams globally.
Getting certified is not a box-ticking exercise. TÜV sent in their auditors to go through everything: our processes, our documentation, our people, and our commitment to keeping things improving over time. You only get the certificate if you genuinely meet the standard. There is no shortcut.
For us, that meant opening up every corner of our operation and being confident that what we do holds up to serious scrutiny. We are pleased to say: it absolutely did. The auditors were satisfied across the board, and we now await our formal certificate.
Every process: from how stock is received to how an order is packed: is formally written down, consistently followed, and regularly checked. Nothing is left to guesswork.
ISO 9001 puts customer satisfaction right at the heart of the standard. Every improvement we make, every process we refine: it is all with you in mind.
The standard does not let you sit still. We are required to keep measuring, keep reviewing, and keep finding ways to do things better. That suits us just fine.
This was not self-declared. TÜV, one of the world's most rigorous certification bodies, carried out a full impartial audit across our entire operation. We passed, and our official certificate is on its way.
What the TÜV Auditors Looked At
The audit covered our entire operation: not just one part of the business. Here is what was put under the microscope:
Quality starts before a product ever reaches us. The auditors reviewed how we approve and manage our suppliers, ensuring the quality of products we source, that we are ordering the correct inventory required, and that all sourcing is matched to our specific operational needs.
Every product that comes through our doors is checked before it goes anywhere near a shelf. Our inbound inspection process makes sure that only stock meeting our standards is accepted, recorded, and stored properly.
How we receive, process, and pick orders was reviewed in full. The auditors wanted to see that our systems and procedures consistently deliver the right products, in the right quantities, without error.
Glass needs to be packed properly: there is no margin for error. Our packing specifications, materials, and despatch procedures were all assessed to make sure products leave us in perfect condition and arrive that way too.
Quality does not stop at the loading bay. How we respond to customers, handle queries, and resolve any issues was assessed just as thoroughly as anything on the warehouse floor: because it matters just as much.
ISO 9001 requires quality to be driven from the top. The auditors reviewed how our management team monitors performance, tackles problems, and leads the drive for ongoing improvement across the business.
